Why can't money grow on trees?

First I need to say that I am BLESSED beyond measure. I have the things I NEED - a house, a car, a man, food, a bed.

BUT sometimes it would be nice to have a little something something. Yes I have money to spend on little things I want. BUT I have a hard time pushing the "go" button when it costs over $20.

Too bad my current favorite clothes to look at are here and here

Eshakti is awesome. You can have anything customized (longer, with sleeves, etc.) for only $7.50 more. Priceless. The first time it is free too. BUT I still can't push go. why? I tend to be thrifty. I like to buy for others. I like to wear cute things, but I also don't like spending money. I would rather buy food. lots of good food. Like the really yummy cranberry cheese spread that I had at my work party last night. yum.

So what I do is think about what I want for a long time until it goes away, and then it isn't an option. Then I think "Man, I wish I would have gotten that". Especially because I have a coupon now.

Oh well.

What should I wear to my wedding luncheon? Preferably under $20 because I obviously have issues.

Prayers Please

Meet Rock

He is the sweetest little handful of a boy you will ever meet. He has 2 sisters and has always wanted a brother.

Well that wish is turning into a reality! My sister-in-law Lisa is pregnant. (Hooray!)

This sweet family will have an addition.

BUT
there is a catch, Lisa has been bleeding with this pregnancy since day 1. The baby seems to be healthy and strong (which is no surprise considering the genes he has) but the placenta has not attached to the Uterus wall. Lisa will be on permanent bed rest until February at least, in hopes that they can help him to make it! He isn't really due until April, so they have a long road ahead.

If you could please keep Lisa and her family in your prayer - it would be appreciated!! I can't even imagine being on bedrest for 12 weeks (or more). It will be hard to not be able to take care of her kids, enjoying the holidays from a bed, and not being able to go to my wedding...but it is worth it for this little boy! Miracles have not ceased. Help us petition Heaven for another one.

Thanks! I am sure Lisa would appreciate it too!!

(isn't she beautiful?)

Just a good quote from a Prophet of God

"Faith in something greater than ourselves enables us to do what we have said we'll do, to press forward when we are tired or hurt or afraid, to keep going when the challenge seems overwhelming and the course is entirely uncertain."

- Gordon B. Hinckley

Domestic

I like being domestic. The other day I saw this tutorial:

http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2010/08/blog-post.html

So I went home and made some (minus the headband part). It took like 2 minutes and I am now in love with them. Many of you may be getting them as gifts...

Then I saw this:

and it cracked me up.

One day...one day I will be that crafy...one day.

Shout out to Mom's!

!!!HOLLA!!!

(this is slang: 1. an exclamation of greeting. 2. an exclamtion used to show excitement or enthusiasm....for those who may not know)

This post is just a SHOUT OUT to MOM's...because lets be honest - THEY ARE AMAZING!

go to this site:

http://www.mormon.org/people/

and find Jane Clayson Johnson and watch it. Love it!

I think there should be one day a week where all mom's get a nap. Babysitting is free and you just get to sleep - for however long you want. (Can this be instated before I reach motherhood please??)

Keep up the good work all!!

"Hug hug, kiss kiss, hug hug, big kiss, little hug, kiss kiss, little kiss." - Nacho

I was thinking just now about X's and O's.

I am pretty sure it is supposed to be X=kiss O=hug

BUT I disagree.

I always prefer X= hug and O= kiss.

Because that is what they look like to me. Dontcha agree?

Peace out. XOXOX

Work

Even though I complain about having a job and how it "gets in the way of life" I am truly THANKFUL for a job and for the ability to work. I read a quote similar to this in my morning scripture reading and it just reminded me that work is good.

"Let us realize that the privilege to work is a gift, that power to work is a blessing, that love of work is success." - Pres. David O. McKay

Pickin'

I take a LOT of pictures of me picking my nose...I should do a whole blog about it, but I will just leave you with this thought:

As the saying goes, you can pick your nose, you can pick your friends...

...but you shouldn't pick your friends nose...that is unless you have an awesome boyfriend who will humor you for pictures.

Thanks Andrew ;)

Delicious!

Once again I made this little number:

http://recipe.aol.com/recipe/outdoor-grilled-cheese-sandwich/138773?page=0

It is amazing. seriously. I love it.

Now just a few tips. It really doesn't matter in my opinion what type of cheese you use. I have done it a few different ways. The key is the chutney. DELICIOUS! It is really good for leftovers on rice too...highly recommend the nectarine chutney. yum.

"life could be worse"

that phrase hit my funny bone today...

When life gets hard, often times we pause and look at other peoples lives and what they have to go through and then we look at our burden and think, man at least our life isn't THAT bad.

I wonder if it makes "those other people" feel even worse about their situation knowing that "THEY HAVE IT BAD"! It can't get much worse than what they've got b/c their friend/neighbor/family member is struggling, but they look at my problem and think I am worse off...

Does this seem funny to anyone else?

I'll just be amused by myself if not.

Swagger Wagon

I have been teased a lot in my day for loving vans. I do. There is nothing more fun than having a load of kids in a van and driving around town. I was meant to be a mom...

My new favorite music video may turn you into a van lover too. Soon you will wanna be singing "I've got pride in my ride..."

Check it out...and feel free to watch the other really funny videos they have done too. Good marketing.

The power of Suggestion

This morning I checked my Facebook page quickly. A friend of mine posted a hymn (In our Lovely Deseret http://www.lds.org/churchmusic/detailmusicPlayer/index.html?searchlanguage=1&searchcollection=1&searchseqstart=307&searchsubseqstart=%20&searchseqend=307&searchsubseqend=ZZZ) "...Drink no liquor and they eat, but a very little meat; they are seeking to be great and good and wise..." needless to say it has been stuck in my head all day so far.

Then I was doing a little blog stalking...and saw someone talk about Oh's the cereal and now I am craving them...

Last night Michael was singing a song and I had it in my head, but then I was confused how it got in my head b/c I had forgotten he was singing it....

Amazing how the mind works and how much we absorb even when we don't think we are. I guess that is why the Lord has taught us to watch our thoughts...we need to be careful about what we take in.

Man I wish I had a bowl of cereal though.
